Your Order Desk

A recap of our conversation, and what I recommend first.

What I heard

You’ve built Gurly Furly in the hours around a full-time job: one or two hours in the evening, and some of the weekend.

About seven in every ten orders are custom. Each one passes through many hands: the customer, you, the designer, the laser cutting, the workshop. A piece takes about a week. Sometimes two.

None of it is written down. Your prices come from a rule of thumb. Your orders are in WhatsApp and in your head. At a bazaar you’d rather talk to people than stop and write.

And your customers come back, and they bring their friends. That isn’t luck. It’s how you treat them, down to giving something back when a piece runs late.

“The rhythm stays slow, the growth stays slow, and I won’t find a way to track sales.”

You, on what happens if nothing changes

“To focus more on the brand, and spend less time on orders.”

You, on what you want instead

What I think is really going on

You don’t need more ways to get orders. Every order you have lives in your memory.

It passes through five sets of hands and none of it is written down, so you only find out about a delay when a customer is already waiting. It isn’t that you don’t work hard enough. Your work has nowhere to live.

Your time is the most valuable thing in this business, and right now it goes into remembering.

Talking to customers the way you do is the part only you can do, and it should stay yours. Everything around it should get lighter.

That’s why I don’t think a website is the first step. A website brings in more orders. Before more orders come in, the ones you already have need a home.

What I recommend first: your Order Desk

One place where every order lives, from the first message to the day it’s delivered. You open it from an icon on your phone, like an app, and it works on your laptop too. You and your brother see the same orders.

It’s 7 PM, and you’ve just left work. You open your phone. In ten seconds you know which orders are at the workshop, which one is due Thursday, and which customer still owes the balance. No scrolling back through chats.

the first thing you see

Today

Three numbers: late, due this week, at the workshop. Below them, only the orders that need you right now. Everything else can wait.

one tap to the next stage

A card for every order, in your own stages

Customer, phone, the piece, silver or gold-plated, a photo of the agreed design, price, deposit paid, balance and due date, all in one place.

Each order moves through the stages you actually work in: new, design agreed, designer, laser, shaping, ready, delivered.

done in seconds

Quick sale, for bazaars and ready-made pieces

Pick the piece or type the price, choose cash or InstaPay, and it’s done. You stay with the person in front of you, and the sale is still recorded.

your rule, not mine

Silver price calculator

Enter today’s silver price once. Pick a weight, and it shows the selling price using your own pricing rule. We set the rule up together on the first day.

Sales at a glance

This month’s total from Instagram, WhatsApp and bazaars, shown together and separately. Plus every balance still owed.

You and your brother, on the same page

Two logins, one list. Whoever answers a customer sees exactly where their order stands.

What it doesn’t do: talk to your customers. No bots and no automatic messages. Your conversations stay yours, and the Order Desk works in the background.

How we’d work

  1. A short setup call

We shape it around how you work: your stages, your pricing rule, your types of pieces.

  2. I build it

I send you a version to try on your phone.

  3. You use it for real for two weeks

Anything that feels wrong, I adjust.

You don’t need to learn anything technical. If you can use WhatsApp, you can use this.

Investment

12,000EGP

  • Half to begin, half once you’re using it6,000 to start, and 6,000 once the Order Desk is in your hands.
  • No monthly feesAt your size it runs on free hosting.
  • Two weeks of adjustments includedAfter handover, while you use it for real.

What comes later

The Order Desk comes first. Each of these is easier once it exists.

Images

You told me photos and posting take more of your time than anything else. That’s the work my studio does, so taking it off your plate is the natural next step.

A website

Once the Order Desk shows what you actually sell and when, a website can be built on top of it, with the same orders, prices and silver calculator.

The name

You mentioned renaming the brand. That’s a real decision: years of customers know the name you have now. It deserves its own conversation, not a line in this one.

If this feels right, reply “let’s start”.

We’ll book the setup call. If something here doesn’t fit how you work, tell me. That’s exactly what I want to hear before we build.
